Hepatitis B Preventive Vaccine — 3-dose Course
The Hepatitis B vaccine helps protect against hepatitis B virus infection.
A full vaccination course consists of 3 doses. The second dose is usually given 1 month after the first dose, and the third dose is usually given 5 months after the second dose.
After completing all three doses, more than 95% of healthy individuals can develop protective antibodies, providing long-term protection against hepatitis B virus infection.
The Hepatitis B vaccine is generally well tolerated, with few side effects. Mild pain may occur at the injection site, which usually improves within 1–2 days.
Individuals who have previously had an allergic reaction to the Hepatitis B vaccine or to any ingredient of the vaccine, such as yeast, should not receive the vaccine.
Hepatitis B vaccination may be recommended for the following groups:

- Household members of patients with chronic hepatitis B
- Sexual contacts of hepatitis B carriers or people at risk
- People living with HIV

- Individuals who regularly receive blood or blood products
